Puma SE is a German manufacturer of sports accessories, clothing and footwear, headquartered in Herzogenaurach, Germany. The company was founded in 1948 under the name of Gebrüder Dassler Schuhfabrik by Rudolf Dassler, the brother of Adolf "Adi" Dassler, who founded his competitor, Adidas. Currently, the company operates under a virtual structure that allows it to manage all the divisions in the world. Since 2007, Puma belongs in part to the French group Kering. The logo was created in 1968, inspired by the cougar, wild feline that is characterized by its speed, strength and agility. At first the logo had eyes and nose, which were eliminated in 1979. The PUMA logo is one of the best known in terms of sports brands. The German brand used the meaning of the word "puma" in Spanish to include a figurative image in its logo. A cougar accompanies the brand name. For the word is used a type of dry and at the same time rounded, solid color. Quite the opposite of the puma of the logo, which is in attack position, jumping up. Traditionally the logo is black, but it is very common to see it also in red, which is why the company is betting a lot. The logo of PUMA is recognized both typography and imagotype, although we can see many times that only the puma appears, since it has its own entity and is already identified with the brand, but rarely the opposite case is seen, in which only the letters appear. His specialization has always been the shoes. In fact, the company was a pioneer in professional footwear for soccer players and Olympians, but in later phases the company has evolved territorially and in terms of product range. The PUMA shoes, with their logo on one side, are the best known. As a curiosity we could mention another company whose logo is world famous, Adidas. The first owners of Adidas and PUMA were brothers who, for personal reasons, decided to create different companies. It is curious how both the Adidas logo and the PUMA logo have managed to create both so much brand image. In March 2010, Puma buys the American brand Cobra Golf.
